# Connect Instagram and Facebook

> Connect an Instagram account or Facebook Page and understand Replier's connection states.

A channel is an Instagram account or Facebook Page that Replier can monitor for comments. Connections belong to the workspace you are using when you add them.

## Connect a channel

    From the dashboard, select **Manage channels** or open **Channels** in workspace management.

    Select **Connect Instagram account** or **Connect Facebook Page**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Authorize through Meta">
    Sign in on Meta's page, review the permissions, and choose the account or Page Replier may access. Replier never asks you to type your social password into Replier.

  <Step title="Wait for comment listening">
    The connection can briefly show **Comment listening setup pending** while Replier subscribes to comment events.

      When setup finishes, the channel is ready to use as an automation target.

## Connection limits

Instagram accounts and Facebook Pages count toward the same workspace limit.

## Connection states

    Replier is subscribing to comment events. This usually clears shortly. Refresh **Channels** if the status does not update.

    Listening is not active. Select **Retry comment listening**. If it fails again, reconnect the channel or contact support with the error shown on the page.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Reconnect required or token expiring soon">
    Meta authorization has expired or needs attention. Select **Reconnect** and complete the Meta flow again.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Comment listening off">
    Replier is not receiving new comment events for this channel. Retry setup or reconnect before relying on its automations.

## If a connection is skipped

A social account or Page can belong to only one Replier workspace at a time. If it is already connected elsewhere, switch to that workspace and disconnect it before trying again.

Your Meta account and its current permissions also determine which channels Replier can list. If the channel you expect is missing, confirm that you signed in with the Meta account that manages it and granted the requested permissions.

## Disconnect a channel

Open the channel's action menu and select **Disconnect**. Confirm the action when prompted.

  Disconnecting stops Replier from replying on that channel and pauses its existing automation targets. Your existing automation records remain in the workspace, but they cannot run until a suitable channel is connected again.
