An automation tells Replier where to listen, which responses should match, and what message to send.

Choose posts or stories

Choose from the content shown in the picker. Use Refresh for new content or Show more posts to see more. You can combine Instagram and Facebook posts with Instagram stories. One automation supports up to 24 targets. A target is one selected post, story, next-item slot, or account-wide choice. They share the same matching words, DM, buttons, and workspace interaction allowance. Public replies apply only to post comments. The same specific post, story, or selection scope cannot be assigned to two active automations at once. The picker marks content that already has an automation. If a post also has its own specific-post automation, that automation is used instead of an “All posts” automation on the same account. Up to 10 automations can wait for upcoming posts on one account. Each new post goes to the first automation in line, so the second one uses the post after next. When one is already waiting, the picker shows the slot a new automation will take, such as Upcoming post #2. Check or change the order under Upcoming posts on the Automations page. A paused automation keeps its place and still takes its post, so a post published while it is paused gets no automatic reply and does not pass to the next automation. Paused automations count toward the limit of 10.

Choose what triggers the reply

  • Specific keywords: Add words or phrases. Press Enter or use commas to add several. A response matches if it contains any saved keyword, ignoring capital letters.
  • Any comment / Any reply: Every eligible response from another account can match. Your own responses are excluded.
For example, guide matches “GUIDE please” and longer words containing those letters. Choose a distinctive word to avoid accidental matches. Select Suggest similar keywords to get spelling variants of your keywords: spacing and hyphen forms, common typos, Traditional or Simplified Chinese, and full-width or half-width characters. Suggestions are not added until you select them; Add all adds every one. Variants that could match unrelated words are left out, and you may get no suggestions. Requests are limited to 10 per minute.

Write the replies

For post comments, add 1–5 public reply versions, each up to 300 characters. Choose randomly picks a version; Send in order cycles through them. Stories skip this public reply. Write a private message up to 640 characters. Start with what the person asked for. For example: “Here’s the checklist. Open the link to download it.” Select Add name under the message to insert the person’s Name or Username. Replier fills it in for each person who gets the message. If Instagram has not shared a name, Name shows their username. Each name counts as 30 characters toward the limit. This works in the DM, opening and email messages, and Follow Gate messages. To ask for an Instagram follow before sending the saved DM, turn on Ask them to follow first. Set up Follow Gate. Facebook targets send the saved message without checking a follow. You can add up to three buttons. Each needs a label up to 20 characters and a full destination URL, such as https://example.com/guide. Drag the button’s handle to change its order. Replier tracks button clicks.

Preview and activate

Use Preview to check different posts, public reply versions, the DM, and buttons. Name the automation and select Turn on automation. Test from another social account. Later, open Results to review delivery. Manage or edit the automation. Meta’s permissions and messaging rules still apply to every reply.
